Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Deep Learning Research Intern to join our team. As an intern, you
will work closely with our deep learning engineers to develop AI models for ophthalmic image analysis.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various stages of the AI development pipeline, including curating datasets, preprocessing images and labels, and running experiments to identify the best models and training paradigms.

Key Responsibilities
• Performance analysis, fault analysis and literature review to identify improvement potentials
• Identify promising datasets, model architectures and training paradigm
• Design experiments to test out ideas
• In collaboration with other deep learning and DevOps engineer, set up pipelines using Kubeflow
, ensuring reproducibility and scalability of experiments
Qualifications & Experiences
• Educational Background
o Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master in Data Sciences, AI, Computer Science,
Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field, with a focus on deep
learning, machine learning, or computer vision.
• Technical Skills:
o Proficient in Python with experience in deep learning frameworks
o Solid understanding of deep learning concept
o Skilled in critically analysing research papers
o Experience in evaluating model performance
• Soft Skills:
o Strong problem-solving abilities, capable of working both independently and
collaboratively.
o Effective communicator, able to explain technical concepts to non-experts and engage
with clinical or DevOps experts.
o Eager to learn new technologies and apply them to healthcare challenges
• Preferred Qualifications:
o Experience in medical imaging
o Familiarity with machine learning pipeline management tools like Kubeflow.
o Experience working with large-scale image datasets and preprocessing techniques.

• This role does not qualify for EU Blue Card
• Flexible start date: May 2025

o Standard Internship: 4-6 months
o Short-Project Internship: 1-2 months
